Party of Four by Nevea Lane

Excerpt

“This is for you, Kailee. Open your mouth.” Charles’ accented voice was close to her ear, and she didn’t really give a damn about anything but the comforting massage Chad was giving her. Her lips parted, and she felt the tip of a strawberry caress her tongue. Tickling the tip of the strawberry just a bit before she bit into it, Kailee moaned as the fresh fruit hit her taste buds. Her cravings had hinged on strawberries lately, and the taste of the red fruit only relaxed her more. If they were going to massage her and feed her strawberries, she didn’t need a huge party. She would have been content sitting still right here.

“Delicious, I bet. Let me taste.” Kailee didn’t have time to think as she felt Charles’ lips press against hers, softly at first, his tongue licking the corner of her mouth before his lips firmly pressed against hers. Her gasp quickly turned into a moan as his lips gently worked against hers.

“I’ve wondered what your lips taste like, Kailee. It’s my turn.” Phillips’ voice sounded needy and full of desire. She felt the half-bitten strawberry trace her lips again before a different set of lips descended onto hers, encasing her mouth with gentle pressure. His mouth worked over hers, dancing from the top lip to the bottom lip until she was breathless.

Yes, I did it. My first light BDSM tale.   I fear I haven’t been completely honest with you all.  I like kink. I’m not sure if that was a confession or just a ‘just so you know’ announcement.   Shara Azod LLC knows a little something about kink.  I’m pleased to throw my name into their marvelous Whipped Dreams line.    For those of you who know the imprints works, you know that Whipped Dreams center around BDSM or D/s story lines.   I took it one step further.  This time, the heroine is the Domme.

Below is the blurb and a spicy little excerpt to get you wondering.  Click the link, buy the tale, and warm up your holiday season with a bit a sugar, spice and and a whole lot of kink.

BLURB

Athena Divan had it good; her own company, a premium New York apartment and a secret.   Gerard Bourdain was much the same; his own company, a premium New York apartment, a restless spirit and a secret.  These two had butted heads in the board room, but they were about to find they had a lot more in common when their secrets collide at the Black Tie bondage club.

The only thing is, Athena was Mistress Minerva. She knew who he was, but Gerard was in the dark about her secret identity.   Would she take the opportunity to have a bit of revenge at Gerard’s expense?  Of course.  Yet, could she keep herself in check and not step over the line and jeopardize her identity?
*EXCERPT*

As he stood on the other side of the door, he took a deep breath. This
mistress was supposed to be the best, as the owner kept telling him. A second generation dominatrix. He’d never heard of such a thing. Pushing the heavy
door open, he stepped into the room.
His stomach immediately tightened when his eyes focused on the woman
perched on the throne. She looked like a deity, her shoulders back and her long
legs crossed in a striking pose. Her mouth was pursed, and her burgundy
lipstick looked like a fine wine staining her lips. The black masquerade mask
did little to hide her features. Her high cheekbones stood out in the dim
lighting, but her eyes were the most striking almond color he’d ever seen.
He swallowed hard. She raised her arm and, in a regal movement, turned
her palm upward and curled her fingers forward, beckoning him to her. He
dropped his head and took slow steps toward her. He stopped a mere foot away
from his appointed mistress. For the first time, he was intimidated by a woman.
His mother didn’t intimidate him, and she threw her weight around better than
any man he’d met.
“Well, well, well,” his mistress said in a husky, breathless tone. She
uncrossed her legs and stood. Her heels didn’t make a sound as she walked
toward him across the carpeted floor.
Without pausing, she began to walk around him, looking him up and
down. He didn’t dare move his head to follow her movements, knowing that
would bring him punishment. The leather of her glove felt cool as she laid the
palm of her hand against the small of his back. The simple touch made his cock
stir.
“Mmmm. There is nothing I like more than fresh meat.” She smacked his
ass with an echoing slap that stung his flesh even through the leather pants.
Her palm cupped his ass in a soothing motion, and she began to rub his
stinging cheek as if to soothe the sting. The smell of her hung in the air, and it
was all he could think about as he tried to force himself to breathe in through
his nose and out through his mouth.
“What is your name, slave?”

REVIEW – Elixir of Wife (Dux Ducis Book 1) by Jeanie Johnson and Jaya Leigh

Elixir of Wife - To Buy, Click the Cover

Elixir of Wife – To Buy, Click the Cover

I was smart with this one.  Anything written by the duo of Johnson and Leigh, well, a woman needs to be prepared.  I had my night all planned out, a bottle of Ecco Domani Moscato, 3 chocolates, each picked out specifically by my mate.  After pouring us each a glass, I gave him the look.  You know, the look that says I’m about to read, please don’t breathe in my direction until I’m done sighing to myself and have put away the reading apparatus and glasses.

Let me tell you something about this book here, if you don’t love chocolate by the end of it, see a therapist; a good chocolate therapist.   Not only do they describe some of the most sin-inducing chocolate truffles in this book that made my mouth water, the things Nerva Imperatores does with this chocolate made me almost jealous.  I say almost because my mate likes to read on these things every once in a while and I’m not about to get paddled.

You see, Nerva Imperatores is a genius, a financial whiz, yet his way with chocolate is what has garnered his fame, and the attention of a choco-a-holic  named Sorpresa Venetia.   Now Sorpresa, have you ever met a character that you wonder, is this me, or perhaps a relative of mine?   There is a line in the book that sums it all up about Sopresa and Nerva:  ”Originally, she’d only wanted Nerva for what he could do with cocoa and sugar but now she wanted him for what he could do to her heart: make it damn near beat out of her chest.”

Nerva was convinced he was setting up his Sopresa for someone else.  He’d convinced himself she was the perfect match, just not for him.    However, the way she barged into his life, demanded his chocolate, his time and his ear, he couldn’t help but to fall for her.  Yet, he’d already set in motion a plan that meant  Sopresa wasn’t his.

Jeanie Johnson and Jayha Leigh always make a book worth the time it takes to read it.   The males are always so alpha they make you sweat just reading their names.  The women are strong and fearless and have no problem going for what they want, especially if  what they want is their man.

This book made me want two things:  to find a piece of chocolate that makes me want to do half the things that Nerva did with his chocolate, and to try to patiently wait for the Dux Ducis 2.

New Release! Midnight and Mayhem by Nevea Lane

CLICK TO BUY! Midnight and Mayhem by Nevea Lane

I’ve got a new release for you all and it is longer than most stories I’ve written.   I’ve always wanted to create a vampire.  I didn’t think I had enough knowledge to create a believable one.  Let’s face it, I was a pre-teen when Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles hit bookstores and Ms. Rice created such angst and believable characters, I was convinced that she’d captured what a vampire should be. I’ve been hooked on the blood suckers ever since.  I read every book in that series, some of them twice.   A part of me hid away the desire to create a vampire universe because I thought it would be too time consuming. The thought nagged at me for years.  Finally, on a whim, a hunch and a really good bottle of red wine, I tied myself to the computer and created this.  Book One in my Midnight series, Midnight and Mayhem.   Continue reading for an excerpt.

Blurb

Etienne Le’Maistre was dedicated to hunting rogue vampires and anything that threatened his status as the vampire leader of his coven. Everything he did was part of his vow as a warrior and a leader. When he heard the terrifying screams of a child in the night, he acted from a new perspective, that of protector. Saving the life of a human mother and child from a vampire attack was just a part of his duty—or so he thought.

Thirty years later, that child was a grown China Kincaid. Since that fateful night, she’d focused all of her energy on one thing: revenge. She knew vampires were real and she was going to kill them all, or die trying. When her hunting led her back to Etienne, the vampire who’d saved her all those years ago, China realized there was another world out there she didn’t know. Would she be able to survive in Etienne’s world of midnight and mayhem?

***EXCERPT***

“Miss Kincaid, please understand you are going to start a lot of trouble, and I can assure you there are less understanding people out there than I. You could get hurt.”

“People, you aren’t people! You are dead things playing alive and you…”
Before Etienne could stop himself, he rounded the desk and had China in his arms. He looked down at her shocked face, her pink mouth slightly agape, yet her eyes half-lidded, as if she was drunk. There was nothing he could do against the strong pull to kiss her. Before he could find the willpower not to kiss her, his hand had entwined in her ponytail and he tugged her hair back just a bit. His lips danced lightly over hers, kissing, prodding. The pleasure of her mouth on his forced him to keep his top lip curled over his incisors, even as they began to descend. He didn’t want to nip her. However, there was nothing he could do to shield her from the hard line of his painfully aroused cock pressing into her stomach.

Breaking the kiss with a hiss, Etienne backed away from China and made sure she saw his gaze. He knew what he looked like caught in lust: his eyes would be glowing, and his skin would be flushed. His pronounced canines would be gleaming by now, fully descended and ready for a drink.

“Did that feel so dead to you, Miss Kincaid?” Her hand flew to her lips in horror. He told himself that he kissed her to make her see the danger she was in, but he just couldn’t bring himself to believe that lie.

REVIEW – Till Dawn by Thirteen

There is something about a book that reaches up and makes you stay up until two a.m. to finish it.   This is what happened to me when I first started reading Till Dawn by Thirteen.   I needed to get my writing juices flowing again, but I hit a wall.   I picked up my trusted cell phone, opened my Kindle app and saw the cover for Thirteen’s Till Dawn staring at me, beckoning me to open it.  The cover is eye catching enough.   The lovers embrace on the cover spoke of passion that was perfect for a late night read.

So I opened the page as was met with a stylistic prose that immediately caught my attention.  It opens with a forlorn man contemplating his life when he sees a beauty about to take the plunge off of a bridge.   I  don’t want to give too much away for this short and sweet read, but you become entangled in wondering in will she or won’t she jump?   I will tell you it isn’t a typical love story, but it has every element of a passionate love story that will make you sigh and yet keep you on the edge of your seat.   Thirteen has a way of weaving a story that not only makes the reader feel but it engrosses them in the story within a few short lines.

“Cal saw her first as a silhouette, there on the bridge, spotlighted under a streetlamp.  He paused at the sight, his heart thumping.”

I’m a big fan of novel first lines.  If the first line can grab your attention, then you don’t have to wait to delve into the meat of the book, it is right there for you.    The above first line was amazing and exhilarating   Can’t you already feel your heart pounding?

Speaking of heart pounding, the intimate scenes are so good, you find yourself sighing, and fanning yourself.   Another interesting thing to ask yourself  while reading, would you rather be the hero or the heroine in the lovemaking scene.  You’d have to read it to find out why I say that.  :)

This was my first story that I’ve read by Thirteen.  I can guarantee you it won’t be my last.   Check out Till Dawn by Thirteen at Beautiful Trouble Publishing, you won’t regret it.

Absolutely Delicious: Review of “A Valentine’s Day Love Story” by Delicious Thoughts

image

http://beautifultroublepublishing.com/xcart/A-Valentines-Day-Love-Story-EBOOK.html

There are certain books or stories that make you say “ahhh, the perfect treat.” A Valentine’s Day Love Story by Delicious Thoughts is one of those books. In this short but sexy read you begin with tension as we encounter Sally, the heroine, standing in a garden, troubled. Is it because that she is engaged but not to the one she loves.  Her best friend, Georgina, knows this and aims to provide comic relief. I love the way the author inserts humor into a tension filled scenario. That is a skill that is much needed to deal with life’s dramas. You find yourself able to relate to the characters no matter what, well besides Gordon whom I think we all want to kick in the arse by the end of the story.  The tension mounting in the story built on top of the sexual tension the reader can feel as soon as you begin to turn the page. It is well worth the climatic ending. Pick up this title at Beautiful Trouble Publishing.

Topaz Aura Sinclair, aka DJ Bluefire, has been feeling a little lonely this holiday season—the first one she’s spending without her family. She’s even taken on extra gigs just to stay active during the season. At one of her assignments, she meets Sebastian Rosser, an ex-military officer turned caterer. Sparks fly immediately… But when one of Topaz’s gigs turns dangerous, will she and Sebastian find a way to keep their holiday bright?

**EXCERPT**

Topaz laughed and looked at Sebastian. She finally took the moment to really study the man who was before her. He looked delicious and dark in his black slacks and turtleneck. His toned arms seemed about to split the shirt at the seams. The deep green of his eyes gave him a dangerous air and made Topaz shudder. Then she remembered the way he’d gotten her out of the brawling fiasco at the Den.

“What did you do before you became a chef, Sebastian?” He couldn’t possibly have been just a caterer all his life, not with those moves.

“I was in the British Army. I enlisted young, and applied for my discharge about three years ago.”

“I kinda figured you were military. You’re too sharp.”

Sebastian lifted his eyebrow at her. She giggled and took another sip.

“What I mean is that you were cool under pressure. You didn’t seem to mind I was poking around in the kitchen when we met. Most caterers I know aren’t like that—they’re territorial.”
“Oh, I’m territorial, but not about food,” Sebastian countered, his tone serious.
“I see. So what brings you to the States?” Topaz knew the hour was late, but she didn’t want to let him go just yet. It was better than being in her small apartment, lonely and cold. Christmas was merely a week away, and she didn’t want to think about spending it alone.

“Opportunity and a change of pace. Working with The Det, I spent most of my time in Northern Ireland, and London no longer seemed like home after my parents died, so the States seemed logical.”

Topaz could relate to what Sebastian was feeling. She knew what it was like to feel out of place. “The ‘Det.’ What is that?” Topaz asked.

“It’s a special recon unit. We’re plainclothes operatives, and that’s all I’m telling you,” Sebastian said, his lips playing around with the idea of a smile.
“Oh, it’s like that?” Topaz said, lifting her own eyebrow and staring at him. Sebastian gave a slight nod, and this time he actually did smile.

Topaz gasped at the smile that transformed his face. It seemed to make the hard lines around his mouth disappear, and he looked so human. She felt a lump in her throat, and her words were lost. Sebastian Rosser was one fine man when he smiled.

* * *

Sebastian felt the sides of his face ache as he broke into a grin. He was sure he had smiled before he entered the military, but he’d never remembered it feeling so good. He was sure it was because of the company of one Topaz Sinclair.

From his days in the military, Sebastian had used his contacts to dig up important information on Topaz. Even with the little information he could find, he found that she soothed the restlessness he had been plagued with most of his life. He’d always been known as the one to take the first shot, the one to take the lead. With her, he didn’t want to jump in too fast, but he felt like he was on a roller coaster of emotions. “So tell me about you.” Sebastian said, knowing her soothing voice would calm the restlessness he was feeling again.

“What do you want to know?” Topaz asked, taking another sip of her coffee.

“Everything. Every last detail.” Sebastian didn’t mince words, but he didn’t think she would mind.
“Well, let’s see. I’m an only child. My mom and dad had me late in life, so they didn’t get the chance to have other children. They passed away earlier this year.”

Sebastian nodded and again grabbed her hands. He was amazed at how small they seemed in his own. His thumbs circled over her palms, mindlessly tracing figure-eights on her warm skin. He looked at her long fingers, nails without polish, the simple silver thumb ring the only jewelry she wore. She was simplicity personified, and he wanted to know everything about her.

“I’m sorry. This time of year must be rough for you.” Sebastian gave his sympathy, but he couldn’t help but wonder if she would mind spending the holiday with him.

“Yeah, that’s why I took on so many extra gigs. I needed to be moving, doing something, anything.”

“So, what are your plans for the holiday then? More shows? Your calendar seemed pretty open.”

Topaz looked at him, and Sebastian could see the scrutiny. He braced himself for the question.
“Was tonight the only night you came looking for me, Sebastian?”
“No. I think I’ve been looking for you all my life.”
